Treatment The following can all be treated using Thought Field Therapy:Addiction - Anger - Anxiety - Compulsive behaviour - Depression - Eating disorders - Fear - Grief - Guilt - Jealousy - Obsessions - Panic attacks - Phobias - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - Rage - Sadness - Self-sabotage - Shame - Sporting performance - Stagefright - Stress - Trauma - Weight loss Emotional distress can often be eliminated within minutes, and clients do not have to talk about it at length. Talking is only required to formulate an issue prior to treating it. During a treatment, a client tunes in to a particular emotional problem or upset, and then rates its intensity on a scale from 1 to 10 (for people who find it hard to relate to numbers, terms such as ‘high’, ‘medium’ and ‘low’ can be used instead). Working with the issue using TFT tappings usually brings this down to zero in stages. Once the emotional charge has disappeared, a client may remember a traumatic event from the past, but will instead engage with it in a calm and neutral fashion. Symptoms stemming from an underlying issue (i.e. nightmares linked to a past trauma) will also disappear. In TFT, self-sabotage patterns are known as ‘Psychological Reversal’. Signs of psychological reversal may include a reversal of thought (e.g. confusing ‘left’ and ‘right’, mixing up terminology), or an overall lack of coordination. These are tackled using a number of tapping sequences. |
