Merle Fullerton's HOME PAGE

The first important aim of this web page is to keep people informed about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia and related disorders. If you are looking for a support group in your area you may need to look in the local newspapers. Ring the state ME/CFS Society for more information.

Click on the Links page for important information from the South Australia CFS/ME Society.

At the present time there is "NO Functional" National ME/FM Association in Australia similar to the Heart, Cancer and other such Foundations that raise awareness for their members.

The second aim of this web page is to expose the corruption that lurks in some local government areas. I have tried unsuccessfully to expose the lies and dishonest behaviour of some councillors in the Lismore City Council. Although I have brought this to the attention of the relevant Ministers, the ICAC and the Ombudsman: all these authorities just ignored it as trivial.

To find out more about the devious way Lismore City Council persecuted and victimised two elderly pensioners both with multiple disabilities; read Merle's story.

In 1950 at a NSW Annual Conference (The late Labor Prime Minister) Ben Chifley stated: " When you see any sign of dishonesty, stamp on it with both feet. If you believe a thing is right, fight for it, no matter what the odds are against you- the truth and justice will always finally triumph." It is a shame that more people don't follow this example.

Awareness of

Myalgic

Encephalomyelitis.

The B.R.A.M.E. campaign is taking ME/CFS into many countries worldwide creating a greater awareness and understanding of this very debilitating illness.  To order to shed more light on ME/CFS, for the twelfth consecutive year, May 12 has been designated as International ME Awareness Day to commemorate the birth date of Florence Nightingale the British nurse who inspired the founding of the International Red Cross. She apparently contracted a paralysing ME/CFS -like illness in her mid fifties and spent the last fifty years of her life virtually bed ridden. Despite her illness, Florence Nightingale managed to found the first ever school of Nursing. May 12 ME/CFS Awareness Day was initiated by Tom Hennessey, President of RESCIND, USA.

The Country Network was originally distributor for BRAME in Australia. As this is not now functioning more information about BRAME can be obtained from the CFS/ME Society of Victoria or the Toowoomba CFS/ME Society of QLD. More information about these ME Societies can be found on Moira's web site.

For people outside of Australia can contact B.R.A.M.E. at 30 Winmer Avenue, Winterton - On-Sea, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 4BA England. or telephone/fax on +44 (0) 1493 393717.

BRAME is a credit to Tanyia and Christine for all the work they do for people with M.E.. Click onto their new web site for more information, links and updates.
