Freedom of Information and Privacy Act

PRIVACY ACT 1988

It is the responsibility of the Commission to safeguard material that it holds and maintains from being divulged publicly. Where minutes of meetings contain personal information, the Regional Council Support Officer, as the collector of that information, is required to keep that information confidential.

Information that comes into the hands of Councillors and Councils should not be used in an unauthorised way and Councillors recognise their obligation to deal with that information carefully.

Personal information may be disclosed only where the individual concerned has given written consent to such disclosure.

Organisations and/or people wishing to make an FOI application should do so in writing to the Regional Council.
