Merle Fullerton's Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome web page.

This is now my personal web page and I invite you to browse this site and click on to some of the following.

GUIDELINES FOR ME/CFS: MEDICAL CONFERENCES IN AUSTRALIA.

SYMPTOMS: what is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis?

MEMORIAL PAGE: Dedicated o the memory of loved ones who have passed away through ME/CFS whether by complications or their own hand.

STORIES: you will find an interesting article about Dr Jay Goldstien. In LINKS you will find links to other very interesting Australian and overseas web sites.

Although this page was originally developed for the Northern Rivers ME/FM Country Network which unfortunately this no longer exists. This association was the first national ME/FM Association in Australia, publishing a quarterly newsletter and lobbied for better heath services for those people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia.

It is a sad situation where there is "NO Functioning National ME/FM Association in Australia that publishes a newsletter for their members.

This web page is fully funded by myself and is currently being updated. This page contains valuable information so please browse this web site.

The aim of this web page is to keep people informed about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia and related disorders. If you would like to add something of interest please email me nrmecfs@nrg.com.au.

Awareness of

Myalgic

Encephalomyelitis.

The B.R.A.M.E. campaign is taking ME/CFS into many countries worldwide creating a greater awareness and understanding of this very debilitating illness.  To order to shed more light on ME/CFS, for the twelfth consecutive year, May 12 has been designated as International ME Awareness Day to commemorate the birth date of Florence Nightingale the British nurse who inspired the founding of the International Red Cross. She apparently contracted a paralysing ME/CFS -like illness in her mid fifties and spent the last fifty years of her life virtually bed ridden. Despite her illness, Florence Nightingale managed to found the first ever school of Nursing. May 12 ME/CFS Awareness Day was initiated by Tom Hennessey, President of RESCIND, USA.

The Country Network was originally distributor for BRAME in Australia. As this is not now functioning more information about BRAME can be obtained from the CFS/ME Society of Victoria or the Toowoomba CFS/ME Society of QLD. More information about these ME Societies can be found on Moira's web site.

For people outside of Australia can contact B.R.A.M.E. at 30 Winmer Avenue, Winterton - On-Sea, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 4BA England. or telephone/fax on +44 (0) 1493 393717.

BRAME is a credit to Tanyia and Christine for all the work they do for people with M.E.. Click onto their new web site for more information, links and updates.
